Academic Profile

He’s the father of Marce Castellano. He has worked many years in agriculture, as an engineer and as a researcher. He is now retired and his main focus is learning his English and preparing to move to Spain. He’s very interested in politics as well as in art, culture, literature and having his retirement yers focused on those. It’s very difficult to get him to stop talking and to get him to focus on class. It is challenging to bring him into a typical classroom environment. He’s very focused on learning vocabulary. He likes speaking. He tends to go into deep rants or discussion on topics over here. He is is very dedicated to doing his homework and if you give him work to read or to listen to and find it interesting culturally, he will talk about the information. Ability wise, he’s probably in the A2 range or I would say his pronunciation is in the A2 range. He needs to work on his sounds, especially hard consonants and delivery and his pacing. On fluency, he’s definitely in the B1 category. He can flow with the conversation. If he doesn’t understand something, he’ll stop you and ask. He’s between B1 and then A2 as you get more complex with topics and his listening is definitely something he needs to work on; he’s probably into the A2 range.
